SATA has been the first choice for embedded storage interface for a while and NVMe is on the way to becoming the next mainstream.
As the result of technology transition, the number of CF card shipment is rapidly declining. Many flash storage vendors have already stopped supplying CF card and the remaining vendors are expected to follow suit due to shrinking demand.
This means that CF users will either have to face End-Of-Life bulk purchase from current CF vendor at some point or be forced to switch to other vendors.
